MF Splash

Red, green and blue copies of one MF, balanced to the same luminance, Y 0.310. Tilt your phone and they slide apart like weights on a tray, then a spring swings them back through the centre. On a desktop the mark moves by itself.

How it moves

The split is a weight on a spring anchored at the mark's centre. Tilt pushes it like gravity on a tilted tray: about 12° holds a full split. Level the phone and it swings through the centre, overshoots a little and settles stacked. Tap the mark to re-level wherever you're holding it.

The glow behind the letters is a darker companion to them. It is pink when the layers are stacked and, as they orbit, sweeps through blues and violets at one lightness and back to pink, so it changes color without getting brighter or darker.

Drift uses lighten blending, so overlaps stay colored. Blend uses screen and draws each ink twice, as a red and a cyan eye copy, so every edge doubles as the layers move.
